Ibrahim Al-Jboory: B.Sc. in Plant Protection (1976), M.Sc. in Entomology -Acarology from Baghdad University (UB) 1978, and PhD in Plant Protection, Agricultural Zoology-Acarology from Bonn University, Germany 1987.
Retired University Professor 2009;lives in Jordan since 2005 acting as a freelance consultant in plant protection; teaching intensive course pest and their control since 2008 until present in IAMB-Italy; established the date palm website www.iraqi-datepalms.net since 2007;new records of 25 beneficial insects ,nematodes, fungi and pests to the Iraqi and Arab countries fauna; published 27 extension brochures, booklets and leaflets for the Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture and UB; attended more than 54 international conferences and 55 national and regional workshops; 18 team leader or member in conducting studies to solve agriculture pests in Iraq; published more than 124 scientific articles, and 55 educational articles in the Iraqi newspapers, magazines and media ; 42 international training and visits; supervisor for 22 postgraduate students (MS and PhD);research lines Acarology, date palm pests and IPM; published 6 books the last two are in 2021 on Fall Armyworm published by FAO and the second one is The role of Arab Society for Plant Protection in Spreading the Awareness of Date Palm Pests Management published by Khalifa International Award for date palm in UAE.
Acting as an international consultant by FAO-RNE in the field of IPM, FAW, and RPW, he participated in preparing the scientific review of the impact of climate change on plant pests printed in 5 languages by FAO-IPPC 2021, and he has continuously other activities in different fields of interest.
